Kyrie Irving joined ESPN’s First Take this afternoon and discussed the trade from Cleveland to Boston. Irving discussed many topics including why he did not notify Lebron James of his desire to be traded from Cleveland (video).
Irving spent three seasons playing along side Lebron James in Cleveland all of which ended in trips to the NBA Finals and the one championship in 2016. Although his trade request was just made a few months ago, in his mind this has been in the works for awhile (video).
The First Take appearance should just add to what will already be an epic season opener when Boston takes on the Cavaliers in Cleveland on October 17th. The developing Cavaliers/Celtics rivalry has now grown immensely.
Lebron James will host his annual pre-training camp team workouts starting Tuesday in California.
The Cavaliers team will gather for the workouts at UC Santa Barbara. New point guard Isaiah Thomas will be in attendance but it is not known if he will participate.
Lebron and Kevin Love worked out Monday at the UCLA campus together. Maybe Irving’s departure will bring these two closer together.
