Dwyane Wade is set to clear waivers on Wednesday after his contract buyout from the Chicago Bulls. Wade can verbally agree to sign with another team before then but cannot physically sign a contract until he clears waivers. Multiple NBA sources have stated that Wade is expected to join Lebron James in Cleveland. The Cavaliers would give Wade the best path to the NBA finals. Lebron James touched on the Wade situation at Cavaliers Media day this afternoon.
The biggest threat to Cleveland for Wade’s services appears to be the Oklahoma City Thunder. Paul George and Carmelo Anthony reportedly reached out to Wade immediately and began their recruiting. The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are also speculated to have interest. Expect Wade to make his decision by the end of the week.
