The Lake Erie Crushers (5-2) extended their winning streak to five games as they blanked the Washington Wild Things 10-0 at Sprenger Stadium in Avon. The Crusher offense was jump started by outfielder Sean Hurley who went 3-4 with two homeruns and four runs batted in.
“I was feeling really comfortable seeing the ball well and being on time,” Hurley said.
Crushers Coach Cameron Roth also agreed with Hurley’s assessment.
“Whatever he’s doing he needs to keep doing it,” said Roth.
Starting pitcher Alex Rmero went six solid innings with four strikeouts allowing only three base hits in notching his first win of the season.
“With Romero you know what you are going to get with him,” Roth said.
The Crushers Saturday game has been postponed and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday with game one starting at 1:00 pm and the second game beginning a half an hour after completion of game one.
